Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get any rest or do much more than barely keep our wits together, as we jumped at every strange sound in the darkness.
In the morning, we ate a meager breakfast and Broga set out once more to find us some game. I took this time to tear some strips of cloth and create a rudimentary poultice for my ally.

Broga cooked the rabbits he’d hunted over an open flame while I dressed his wounds, and we both recovered from the previous day’s ordeal.
After we packed up camp, we made our next push toward the central part of the Hinterlands.

As we ventured along the moors, a small and crumbling castle began to appear on the horizon.
Curious, Broga and I approached the castle from the front, seeing as we had no place to hide from any angle.

What once appeared to be a majestic fortress now stood in eerie desolation. Its stone walls were cracked and overgrown with creeping vines while its towers leaned precariously, their tops shattered and open to the sky.
A strange figure of a man – feeble and bent, yet clad in rusted armor – appeared to guard the front gates.
He greeted us with a shaky wave of his arm and a shout.
“Hark travelers! Before you pass beyond the walls of Valengarde Keep, you must prove your worth or face its deadly champion.”
