Brogah and I found ourselves on our feet, but in unfamiliar territory: a foggy void of in a dimly lit stone dungeon.

Presumably we were now standing in the bowels of Valengarde Keep, instead of right outside in the field where we encountered our Firstborn friend.

Drips of water echoed from moss-covered bricks surrounding us on every side.

As I unsheathed my sword, Brogah seemed to be having a spasm, frantically waving his arms and hands in front of his face.

“Damned cobwebs!” he growled. Something chittered in the distance, and I readied my weapon.

I clicked my tongue at Brogah to get his attention, but behind him I saw an enourmous shadow creeping along the far wall.

Secure an Advantage (Readying for combat)
Slayer 1 + Wits 1 + Action 2 = 4

The enormous spider sped around the corner faster than my eyes could track it.

With all eight of its spindly legs propelling it forward, I barely had the chance to lift my sword before it struck out at me with one of them.

Even though the hairy pointed claw only just grazed my neck as I shrank backwards, the shock of such a nightmarish figure dominating the space of the cramped room sent my brain into a whirl, the likes of which I was not prepared!
