Grasping the hilt with white knuckles, I dropped all my defenses and ran straight at the Nightmare Spider sword point first.

With a sickening crunch, my weapon pierced its spiny carapace and thrust into its thorax. A syrupy black ichor rained down on me and slicked my entire torso.

I could feel Brogah’s wide eyed stare bore into the back of my head as he watched me fly into a rage. He had loaded his bow once more, and now lifted it to take another shot.

The arrow lodged itself in the Nightmare Spider’s skull! I couldn’t have been more thrilled except that with the monster now on its last legs (so to speak), it began flailing around in a murderous panic.

I took the final chance that was given to me and hacked away at the creature’s skull.
