We were incredibly fortunate to come out of that encounter with hardly a scratch or loss of supplies, but Brogah and I were still at our wits’ end having to face down such a relentless foe in such confined quarters.

I let Brogah sit and rest as I took advantage of a previously built and extinguished fire pit some previous adventurer had left.

Brogah and I set ourselves at the edge of the circle and let the dance of the flame consume our minds for a while.

“Let’s finish this then,” he said, and extended a hand. “Together.”
