I’ve tried other solo systems, but what makes this one work best for me is that the result of any single dice roll produces further story ideas, instead of just providing a pass/fail or yes/no answer, and then leaving you to play “20 Questions” with an Oracle to create new goals or obstacles.
Starting out, I’ve only used the original core Ironsworn book, but moving forward, I plan to use the Delve expansion, the Starforged (and its newly released Sundered Isles expansion), as well as several third-party “hacks” and sourcebooks from other fans of the game. Each of them will be credited in their respective gameplay logs.
